Think the Lads should see this and pass comment or sign

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=468619&in_page_id=1770

Please take the time to have a quick look at this.
I just think that the views of the stuck up locals stink and are all wrong. So would be grateful if those who feel the urge or are as disgusted as me could take the two minutes to sign the petition to get this place up and running.
This one is for the daily mail story and comments page. There is also a petition on the 10 Downing street page.

Cheers Jim

Charity Events - In memory of Dave Croft

On 6th July at Barnack Cricket Club there will be a Charity Cricket Match starting at 1800hrs. The match is between 5131 BD Sqn and a Barnack Select XI. Anybody who would like to come and spectate is welcome - the more the merrier. Come on - come and support the 5131 boys as they attempt playing cricket. After the match there will be a disco and a bbq during the evening. The theme for the event is Caribbean - loud shirts and shorts are a must! Money raised will be split between Barnack Cricket Club and Riders for Health (a motorbike charity).

Also, on 14th July, there will be a fundraising afternoon on the sports fields beside Wittering Sports and Social Club. Stalls, a dancing exhibition by a local dance school, bouncy castle for the kids and other entertainment including face painting, oh and the bar will be open! Money will be split between the British Heart Foundation and the NSPCC. Any bikers among you are encouraged to come on your motorbike - as Dave was a keen biker, we would love to see the whole of the Sports and Social car park full of motorbikes! This event starts at 12 noon and will finish around 1630hrs - however the bar will still be open, as it normally is there all day on a Saturday (please note I am not encouraging anybody to drink and drive). Please please please come and support 2 very worthy causes - lets make Dave smile wherever he is! Thank you. Cindy xx

BN Charity update

"I would like to thank all of those who sponsored me on my Vale of Belvoir 40 mile bike ride on 13 May".

The next event is the London to Brighton on 17 June, which will be a 54-mile ride again in support of the British Heart Foundation.

If you didn’t get round to sponsoring me for the last event, now is your opportunity to help me, help others. Any donation would be greatly appreciated in enabling me to raise funds for this charity and can be done so on-line by logging onto http://bhf.org.uk/sponsor/bn

Thanks again for your continuing support.

Andrew Todd Wilcoxson

It's my very sad duty to announce that Todd left us this evening.

He was killed in an accident while riding his Motorbike home after work.

There are few details, but more information may come out as time goes on.

Todd was a friend to all - genuinely larger than life, always cheerful. The freezer in the armoury still has some of the Hare Burgers left (we've run out of Bunny Burgers) all his own work, from hunting, skinning and making. Best burger I've ever tasted.

Although I don't know all the units Todd was on he worked his way around Germany, Gib (EOD) and then made his way to Brize. First as a Cpl in the ESA where he was completely at home with being outdoors whatever the weather, then onto running the Station Armoury with his third.

Condolences from all the Brize Armourers to Wendy, his wife. We're not a trade renowned for our brains so we can't come up with much to offer, or a great deal to say - but we're all thinking of you. Anything we can do for the family would be a pleasure - he was a guy you'd walk to the end of the earth for.

I know there's a few of the Brize Armourers use the goat, some of whom might be surprised by how quickly I've put this up. But given how many of us at Brize have been stunned by the loss, I expect every unit he's served at will have those who feel the same.

I'll make sure that further details of "arrangements" are posted where appropriate.

One last time

"You get the brews on sarge, then we'll go check the fire door out the back hey?"

RIP Uncle Sarge.

SAC Dave Croft - Message from his partner Cindy

I am just writing to say a big thank you for everybodies comments on this website regarding my partner, Dave Croft. Today is one month since he passed away suddenly suffering from an aortic aneurysm. Thankfully he did not suffer and he would not have known much about it. The saving grace is that he was with friends who took care of him and tried to help him as much as they could. For that, I will be eternally grateful and "the lads" concerned will always be very close to my heart. As will all of the people I have met since this tragic event who have offered me a shoulder should I need it. I served in the RAF myself, from 1990 to 1999. However, I am now regretting the fact that I didnt really ever have the chance to socialise with armourers before now. You are truly a marvellous bunch of people who have rallied round and just seeing the comments on here about how well liked Dave is has touched me greatly.

To those who attended the funeral a big thank you, and especially to those who travelled from far afield to make it. For those who could not attend for whatever reason, I know that Dave knew that you were all thinking about him and that you will all be with him for a long time to come. One thing I do know is that he certainly is not sat on a white fluffly cloud playing a harp wearing a white sheet, if he is it would be a cloud with go-faster stripes, a big exhaust, a stereo you can hear from 200 miles away and of course, banging his gums and making people laugh! He has left a very large void in my life but I am thankful to have known him and had the chance to share memories with him. Thank you once again and if anybody wishes to contact me feel free, would be nice to hear from you all.

Cindy xxxxxxxxx

Steve Wincup

Sender Name: Diane Lack
Sender Email: diane.lack AT ntlworld.com
Message: Re: Steve Whincup

Steve is my brother, someone I miss so very, very much. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful it was to come across your website and to read all the messages from mates from all over. My sons were very special to Steve and they in turn idolised him and took his passing very badly. Seeing these messages have put smiles on their faces and the response "lots of people cared for him" - it brings us all comfort - THANK YOU ALL.

To all the people who turned out for his funeral - Thank you so very, very much - the service was beautiful, he would have been so very proud of the turn out - as a family we were very proud for him. He would have loved the wake at The Abbey in Forres, it was the most perfect send off he could have had. Thank you to all the close friends who rallied round to help the following day and for making us so welcome when we returned to Scotland in October. He really did have some wonderful people in his life - it makes the decision he took at the end so much harder to understand. Please send any anecdotes you may have, i am trying to put a memory book together for the boys so that they will always have a permanent reminder of the wonderful man that was/is Steve Whincup.
